From Durango to Wichita
Dodge City, Kansas – 15 November 2008
My dear friend,
Like many people, I would have preferred a different life. I would have liked to study archaeology, travel around the world and lose myself in the hieroglyphics of some Egyptian papyrus or even seek the ruins of some forgotten Angor in the meanders of the Indo-Chinese jungle. But fate has taken me down another path, also because when you’re the eldest of so many siblings, dreams don’t pay the grocery bill or tuition fees. No, I would be an ingrate if I were to complain about how things have gone, but I have worked hard to earn every cent.
…
Imagination should be recounted and reality just whispered.
In friendship,
